Steve & Jenni McAllister Make the Move to Flintridge Riding Club
Steve and Jenni McAllister are moving their entire training, lesson, and horse sale operation to Flintridge Riding Club. After almost four years at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, they are relocating to Flintridge which boasts a long and rich show jumping history. “We have put a lot of effort into upgrading the club and especially the rings,” explained Flintridge President Susan Azad. “We installed European-style footing in our two main rings, and we are underway with refurbishing and modernizing our barns.”
Flintridge offers training options in all three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Eventing, and Show Jumping. Steve and Jenni will be one of the two select hunter/jumper trainers, versus the more than 20 trainers at the highly commercial LAEC.
“We have really enjoyed our time at the LAEC,” stated Steve, where they developed a strong group of junior and amateur riders in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. “But when the Flintridge Riding Club approached us, we had to give the offer serious consideration."
"We really wanted a grand prix caliber rider here at Flintridge,” explained Susan. “People spoke highly of Jenni and Steve, they are well liked, and they have a very good reputation. I think they will be a good fit at Flintridge.”
“This is just a great next step for us,” added Jenni, who finished second in the recent $30,000 Memorial Day Grand Prix aboard Union Jack (Brittany Albrecq, owner). “The new location presents some great opportunities.”
Steve and Jenni will be settling into their new home on July 1 with their clients, including some sale and lease horses. They are supported by a talented staff, so whether horses and riders are on the road showing with Jenni and Steve or at home and attending local shows, they receive excellent training, coaching, and care. “We go to about 20 major shows a year,” said Jenni, “and Andre Barbarosa runs our program at home and takes people to the Gold Coast and Verdugo Hills shows. She does an excellent job teaching and really enjoys working with the kids.” Like Jenni, Andre has ridden at the grand prix level and shown at many of the top shows in the east.
